Fontal Nazionale Barzianella is a semi-soft, sweet and fresh Italian cheese. Italian Fontal is a cousin of the Fontina val d'Aosta. It is made with whole pasteurized milk and ages for a shorter period of time, hence giving it a much milder taste. It is also produced in the northern regions of Italy.
Recommended Use: It is a good table cheese but can also be melted into sauces to be served over sautéed chicken, pork tenderloins or pasta. Similarly it makes a great ingredient for Macaroni & Cheese. It can be used as an accompaniment to dry salami and fresh fruit and pairs well with a Rose wine.
