The ingredients of the most famous Italian cake combined with the softness and the delicious flavour of the prestigious bakery of Abruzzi: Sorelle Nurzia. This selection of Easter "Colombe" , a sweetbread famously created in a dove shape to symbolize rebirth and joy comes in 4 styles and packaging: classic box, gift bag or in a beautiful handwrapped paper and ribbon, or with dark chocolate chips.

Courage, audacity and great craftsmanship.

Gennaro Nurzia armed himself with this when, between 1700 and 1800, he left for the city of L'Aquila, leaving behind his Arischia, a very pretty village at the foot of the Gran Sasso, where traditions still have a very ancient flavour. In L'Aquila, then a very industrious center of pastoral-based economic activity, Gennaro began his business as a liqueur distiller and became a highly appreciated "China" of his own production.
Gennaro's spirit of initiative had no boundaries and little by little his activity expanded towards that of confectionery production, thus giving life to the "Nurzia products", whose fame has crossed the borders of the nation.
It was Ulisse Nurzia, Gennaro's nephew, who gave new impetus to his uncle's initiative. His ingenuity was volcanic. In his small laboratory he worked until late at night with the inexhaustible anxiety of creating new flavors and tastes.

Air and water of the Gran Sasso, irreplaceable elements

In those days, advertising was done solely on the quality of the products and the notoriety of the new nougat became widespread in just a few years. For this reason, companies and entrepreneurs of the time asked Ulysses to hand over the brand and the recipe.
He let himself be tempted by the prospect of being able to have a wider market, moving his business to a factory in Milan, precisely in via Iommelli, at the beginning of the century. But when Ulysses began production, he was unable to obtain his Nurzia nougat.
The flavor is different, the consistency is almost absent, the packaging of the product is often impossible. Ulysses immediately realized that two special ingredients were missing: the air of L'Aquila and the water of Gran Sasso. Only with these could such a particular product with a refined taste be obtained.
His return to his city was inevitable. A return that he also wanted to mean the return to the artisanal tradition of his production by him, the only one capable of maintaining, in the products, those flavors and smells of good and genuine home-made things.

Packaging question

Over the years, the image of Nurzia products has also adapted to modern times, in which what 'appears' has a very important value in identifying and exalting the product. Particular attention to packaging has led to the creation of a special line of wrapping, all original, handmade and made with the same care reserved for desserts, which remain the "heart" of Nurzia's production.
